Fabulous entertainment
"Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren bring amazing energy to this show. Their voices are incredible. We were entertained from beginning to end. Sad story told differently by both characters. Was a bit confusing at first because the characters each tell it in a different order, but only takes a few minutes to really get into the sequence of how their lives played out. The singing by both characters, Cathy and Jamie, was truly amazing. Great show!!!!"

A Masterclass in Intimate, Emotional Storytelling
"The Last Five Years is a beautifully poignant and innovative two-person musical that explores the rise and fall of a romantic relationship between Jamie, a rising novelist, and Cathy, a struggling actress. Told through a unique narrative structure—Jamie’s story moves forward in time while Cathy’s unfolds in reverse—the show becomes a masterclass in emotional nuance and lyrical storytelling."

Meh
"Difficult to follow at times. No chemistry. Characters are good individually, just don’t always mesh. I think this is especially important since there are no other actors in this play. "

Warren outshines Jonas
"Big difference between being a pop star and Broadway star. Warren was beyond belief outstanding. It was difficult to hear Jonas’ words. The difference in emoting was palpable. It was ok. Worth going for Warren. "

Just watch the movie and save your money
"If I did not know the story and I had just come to see the Broadway show, I would have left there asking myself what on earth that was and what it was about? Talented people, poor direction, and uninteresting staging made for a confusing night of theater. So many other choices could have been made to make it a great production. Too bad!"
