"Not a history lesson, but far more enjoyable then pedantry offers! The laughs are constant -- from the opening scene through the perfect denouement! Open minds will enjoy it thoroughly. Closed minds should stay away. "

History in the Making
"The funniest and most creative work Ive seen in some time. I had to get a ticket before Cole Escola takes a break from the show. Tony award winner Cole Escola was absolutely sublime and far surpassed my expectations. I knew it was going to be great but I’m literally speechless since the curtain came down last night. The whole cast rocked but Cole’s creation and execution were such a treat. I had the pleasure of a front row seat. Worth every penny! I can’t stop telling everyone i know how exciting it was to witness this history in the making — before Cole ‘s last performance - Cole has really outdone themself!!). Thank you for this Cole!! "

Comedy genius
"The comedic timing of the Oh Mary! troupe is a master class. I haven't laughed so hard in quite some time. Cole Escola is a comedy genius to reinvent history through such a hilarious retelling of Mary Todd Lincoln as First Lady. Broadway needs more laughter of this caliber. Can't wait to see this production again one day. "

Absolutely Loved It!
"I loved the energy of the show. It wakes you up and keeps you laughing for the entire 80minute-duration and for days to come. A 100ml/hr pace never slowed down! Sensational cast! I was thinking of Cole E. but every single actor in that small cast show is fabulous. Cole E. is the star and the engine of the show - funny, unapologetic, creative, and fantastic - not a false move or gesture! I haven't seen anything like it in years!"

"The play was a fast paced run, through a crazy premise, over acted (in the very best of ways) by a perfect cast. Can’t wait to see what Cole does next. "

Baby, You're the Top!
""Oh Mary" is one of the funniest shows playing on Broadway now. I laughed from the beginning of the show to the end. Cole Escola is Magnificent. Profane, vulgar, naughty, and silly. What a Performance! I am still chuckling! I am here from California for 12 days seeing 14 Broadway Shows. Oh Mary ranks at the top! Thank you, Cole and Sam!!!"

Cole Escola dares to shed new light on Mary Todd's secret desires
"The curtain rises on what could very likely be described as a simple, community theatre style set, and then the first words are blasted out, and we are at once hurled into the hilarious, twisted, delightfully unapologetic world of Cole Escola's reimagining of Mary Todd Lincoln's secret desires. All of the performances were superb, with enough anarchy and high energy antics to keep the audience in stitches. But it was Cole's Mary Todd Lincoln that anchored the cast as they all revolved around her irreverent one-liners and unexpected absurdities. Cole's performance was, in a word, inspired lunacy, with exquisite comic timing and well executed physical gyrations that kept the audience continuously laughing. This play was also a great example of tight ensemble acting, with everyone rising to the heights of their own personal degradations. The fact that this little gem is on Broadway is in itself a welcome surprise, and is one show that should not be missed. It has been far too long since an out and out comedy has reigned supreme. Long live Oh, Mary! "

About Oh, Mary!

Oh, Mary! is a dark comedy about a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Unrequited yearning, alcoholism, and suppressed desires abound in this 80-minute one-act play that finally examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs. Lincoln, through the lens of an idiot (playwright Cole Escola).

Declared “one of the best comedies in years” by The New York Times, Oh, Mary! received Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play (Cole Escola) and Best Direction of a Play (Sam Pinkleton), Drama League Awards for Outstanding Play and Outstanding Direction of a Play, as well as a special citation from the New York Drama Critics’ Circle. It was named a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
